A Hustler's Mentality From Gary Vaynerchuk: What You Need To Know

The road to success for every small business entrepreneur is littered with challenges and roadblocks, which if not handled with the right mental 'grit' can lead to failure. What inspires us most, is the wisdom we gather from those who have already traveled down that road and managed their way around those challenges and roadblocks. They are the 'hustlers' who refuse to allow anything to stop them. Gary Vaynerchuk is one of those entrepreneurs and he has provided insight on a hustler's mentality.

In a recent post on his website, Gary talks about 'A Hustler's Mentality' - the grit that it takes to get past the challenges you'll face in starting your own business. Here is an excerpt from that article:

Hustling is putting every minute and all your effort into achieving the goal at hand. Every minute needs to count. There is so much hustle in my day I don’t even have a second to spare to “hang out” and catch up with the people around me. It may not be ideal for most, but it’s what I’ve signed up for, it’s what I love, and it’s what allows me to get the things done that I seek to accomplish.

Many of you often ask for ways to increase engagement around your content. Short answer: Hustle. Long answer: Make sure you're putting out quality product. Once you know that you're hitting the right notes with the content you're putting out, you need to put your efforts into business development. You need to knock on the right doors, understand where you’re trying to take your efforts, and hustle until there’s not a single ounce of juice left.

And so, when an opportunity presents itself, pounce on it. HUSTLE. Be mindful of the environments and conversations you want to get involved in and be sure that you're offering them value in exchange for what you want from them, which is likely exposure. Remember that although you may be hustling to push your business to the top, you need to be respectful of those helping you along the way, and there’s no better way to show respect and appreciation, than in providing value.
