Recently I created Smart Hustle University as a way to share my version of getting more customers, keeping your current customers and more with my tribe. It's a growing list of online courses focused on personal branding, sales, social media and more. I created it using Teachable. Now that I've created my first online course, I feel it's something every expert should do.
I'm a bit "annoyed" at myself for waiting so long to create an online course!
Teachable, who I'm partnering with, has an array of free training to help you get started, such as a nice course, "7 Steps to Launch Your Own Profitable Online Course" or this "quick start" course for those who want to get up to speed a lot faster.
For years I had resisted creating an online course until my son and few others gave me the final nudge to get me to do it.
If you're a business coach, designer, marketer, lawyer, accountant, finance expert, professional speaker or any other professional who is paid for your expertise, an online course is something you should consider.
- Creating an online course can be a great way to serve as a "sample" of your expertise.
- Creating an online course can be a way to offer something of value, but that might cost less than hiring you for a full time engagement.
- If you are looking to scale your business and offer your insight to a lot more people, but can't clone yourself, an online course is a great way to do it.

How did I do it?
In my case, I had Power Point presentations of various speeches I've done, many of you, especially professional speakers will have that.
I sat in front of my computer with a video camera and just did my presentation, as if I was speaking to an audience of ONE.
Next up, I worked with my executive assistant to put together resources and a worksheet for each course.
There's many ways you can create an online course, depending on your goals and how you want it structured.
But overall, creating a course just takes your determination, time and planning. Planning is important.
Once you get it done, it's DONE and you can share the course with your tribe.
As I said, they can PURCHASE the course, or you can use it as a tool to give potential clients a "taste" of your higher value offerings.
Let me know when you create your first course, I'd love to see it and sign up!
